Interior Designer - Our Sustainability
At KINDLY, we ensure our interior design processes and practices are as kind to the planet as possible. We dedicate to having a low environmental impact within the studio, in the way we approach projects and through the suppliers we use and recommend.
Our studio practices
KINDLY keeps a paperless office. We avoid printing whenever possible. Our client presentations will always be digital, either online or in-person, with the exception of material samples. This also allows you a digital copy of your project available to view at any time and place.
Any printed goods will be produced on recycled or recyclable paper/card whenever possible.
KINDLY do not use single-use plastics.
The KINDLY team uses sustainable transport methods wherever possible. This may involve electric cars, a car-share agreement, or using public transport when visiting clients and travelling to and from the studio.
KINDLY will recycle and reuse any fabric or material samples gathered during the design process.
A percentage of our profits are donated to the Woodland Trust towards planting trees in the UK to help offset our carbon footprint.
Making your interior design project sustainable
KINDLY has a buy well, buy less ethos. If you already have items that are in a good condition, and can be refurbished or up-cycled, if there’s no need to replace something, we will always recommend keeping existing over replacing goods unnecessarily.
We will aim to use responsible suppliers whenever the information is available to make an educated judgement.
KINDLY are happy to recommend Graphenstone paints for all of our projects.
KINDLY will always try to find suitable trades local to your project in order to prevent unnecessary travelling.
We take in mind the energy efficiency of your project: whether you would benefit from additional insulation through lined curtains or specialist blinds, if carpet rather than wood floor will add warmth, recommend LED lighting over halogen, etc.
We will emphasise products which may be more beneficial for the environment, such as furniture created using FSC Certified wood or recycled materials.
In order to create interiors that last, KINDLY will always design with longevity in mind. Unless you particularly love a specific trend and can imagine living with it for the next 10 years, we would always design according to your lifestyle and long-term plans.
